Recognition of Montenegro by Ukraine: June 15, 2006.

Establishment of diplomatic relations: August 22, 2006 (exchange of notes).

The Embassy of Ukraine in Montenegro was established at 2008.

The first Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Ukraine to Montenegro was Slyusarenko Oksana  (from December 1, 2008 to March 31, 2014).

Chargé d’Affaires were:

Volodymyr Tsybulnyk (2014–2015);

Tetiana Volkova (2015–2017);

Fiialka Nataliia (2017-2022).

Since July 2022, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Ukraine to Montenegro is Mr. Oleh Herasymenko.
