This was stated by President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Aleksa Bečić during a meeting with Chargé d'affaires of Ukraine Mrs Nataliia Fiialka on January 19. The President of the Parliament of Montenegro also reaffirmed that the Parliament and the new parliamentary coalition elected in August 2020 will continue to pursue a foreign policy course based on European integration and, consequently, the harmonization of Montenegro’s foreign policy with the relevant EU policy.
N. Fiialka informed the interlocutor about the situation regarding the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine and invited the Montenegrin side to participate in the Crimean platform.
There are no problematic issues between Ukraine and Montenegro, which creates a solid basis for further cooperation. N. Fiialka stressed the importance of deepening inter-parliamentary cooperation, in particular, through friendship groups between the two countries.
President of the Parliament of Montenegro A. Bečić emphasized the readiness of Montenegro to intensify cooperation with Ukraine both at the bilateral level and within the framework of international organizations. It was stressed that Montenegro will continue to support Ukraine on its European and Euro-Atlantic path.
