The first book in Montenegrin language on the history of the Crimean Tatars was published in Montenegro.

Embassy of Ukraine in Montenegro together with the Islamic Union of Montenegro on the occasion of the Day of Remembrance of the victims of the deportation of Crimean Tatars published the first book in Montenegrin history of Crimean Tatars entitled "Crimean Tatars: from the beginning to nowadays" by Bozidar Prorocic and Edin Smailov.

The aim of the project is to acquaint the Montenegrin public with the tragic events of May 18, 1944, when the mass deportation of Crimean Tatars began, as well as with the rich cultural heritage of this Muslim people.

The Embassy expresses its gratitude to the Islamic Union of Montenegro, which has expressed its readiness to support this and similar projects in the future in order to further strengthen friendly relations between Ukraine and Montenegro.
