That was agreed at the meeting between Chargé d'Affaires of Ukraine Mrs Nataliia Fiialka and Mayor of Kotor Mr Vladimir Jokić on December 16. The parties discussed the cooperation in economic, cultural, tourism and other spheres.
N. Fialka stressed the readiness to promote bilateral cooperation in the economic sphere. The importance of launching direct flight between Podgorica and Kyiv in December this year was stressed. This creates a solid basis for intensifying cooperation in the fields of economy, tourism and other areas of mutual interest. Special attention was paid to increasing tourist flows from Montenegro to Ukraine.
From his side, V. Jokic stressed the importance of bilateral interaction and, in particular, expressed satisfaction with the cooperation with Ukraine in the cultural sphere, in particular, the launch of a Ukrainian-language audio guide at the Maritime Museum of Montenegro in Kotor. In addition, he stressed the readiness to develop economic cooperation. IT technologies, industrial zones and green energy development are of particular interest for Montenegrin Side.
In 2019 about 100,000 Ukrainian citizens visited Montenegro. In 2020 Ukraine was one of the few countries that was open to Montenegro and Ukrainians had the opportunity to visit the country.
